Doron Krouzman and Ofer Hoberi, the founders and owners of "Maslul", are two world travelers, that met by hand of chance somewhere in between borders, hitchhiking. They had been traveling throughout the world half their lives, living from their backpacks and doing only what they loved: wind surfing, hiking, working on farms and more. Their main goal was to create a business that would allow them to continue with their lifestyle and somehow give them a chance to share their knowledge with fellow travelers and help them out by passing on some of their life experience and wisdom gathered throughout the many many traveling days and adventures.
They first came up with the idea of "Maslul" beyond Israel's borders, far across the ocean on one of the nights they spent camping outdoors together under an endless starlit night.
It all started with a simple conversation about how much easier their traveling could have been if they had the right guidance before they left the country. The right tent to carry, small improvements on backpacks that go a long way, shoes suited for the extreme climates they encountered and even what not to take along with them.
They understood the importance of this vital information and on that very night made a pledge to try and realize their vision.
The ultimate vision was to create a business that would provide accurate and important information to travelers before they leave the country and offer them access to high standard equipment and true guidance in choosing the right and best equipment for their specific needs. They also wanted a business that would allow them to continue to travel around the world and not give up their many hobbies.
In 1989 their dream became reality.
